College Board and Governance

St Philip's College is incorporated as a company limited known as St Philip's College Alice Springs.

The College Board meets at least eight times a year, and holds an annual retreat, to discuss strategic issues for the College and to monitor the implementation of the College Strategic Plan.

St Philip's College Board consists of between six and nine directors. Two of the directors are appointed by the Uniting Church. The Principal, who is in effect the CEO of the company, is not a director, but actively participates in all Board meetings. The Board is not a stakeholder representative body, rather it is a “skills-based” Board. The Business Manager acts as Company Secretary.

The Board of the College is appointed by the members of St Philip's College Alice Springs.

No members or directors are remunerated in any form for their services as members or directors.

St Philip's College Alice Springs is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

The constitution of St Philip's College Alice Springs can be found here.

All the directors are also members of St Philip's College Alice Springs.

Other current members are our Guardian Members, Mrs Jan Heaslip OAM and Mr Chris Tudor AO, and a member appointed by the Uniting Church Northern Synod.

Adaptive Strategic Framework

The Adaptive Strategic Framework was recently developed and is a direct result of consultation and prescribing achievable intentions.

We acknowledge the Arrernte people as the traditional custodians and first educators of Mparntwe. Our school is home to students from nations all around the world. We ‘strive’ to work with and continue learning from First Nations people. We ‘seek’ to be a part of Australia’s reconciliation journey by engaging in truth-telling. We aim to ‘care’ for Country through connection and environmental education. We pay our respects to elders past and present and thank them for their care of Country and sharing of knowledge.
