Polly Farmer Foundation
The Polly Farmer Foundation purpose is to deliver culturally responsive academic enrichment ‘Follow the Dream’ programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students that develop knowledge, confidence and self-belief, inspiring students to achieve their school and career aspirations.
The Polly Farmer Follow the Dream program provides after school tuition and mentoring to aspirant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander primary and secondary students. Students who desire to learn and succeed at school are invited to attend the program which is voluntary. Family and the local community have input and encourage students to attend through compact signing events. Extra curricular activities including career, leadership and cultural camps are offered to students who meet attendance and academic targets. Graduates are supported through our alumni program with access to career guidance and financial assistance.
We acknowledge the Arrernte people as the traditional custodians and first educators of Mparntwe. Our school is home to students from nations all around the world. We ‘strive’ to work with and continue learning from First Nations people. We ‘seek’ to be a part of Australia’s reconciliation journey by engaging in truth-telling. We aim to ‘care’ for Country through connection and environmental education. We pay our respects to elders past and present and thank them for their care of Country and sharing of knowledge.
