Performing Arts Festival

Apr 14, 2026 11:30 PM

Congratulations to all the students who participated in this year's Performing Arts Festival! It's always a wonderful day full of lots of talent and excitement both on and off the stage.

Thisyear's theme was Art and Artists and each house really took the opportunity to find unique ways to explore this - from Michelangelo to Greek Art, Albert Namatjira to the Mona Lisa, the afternoon was a gallery of all types of art.

Each house spends the morning of the Festival to rehearse and finish their props and costumes, as well as time in The Minnamurra Hall for a run through with the tech crew.

The afternoon is a loud affair as each house's name is drawn out of a hat, and our two esteemed judges (both versatile performers themselves), give points for creativity, team work, music, dancing, and acting.

It was a tight competition with only a few points between first and second place. Congratulations to TOPSY SMITH who were this year's winners. The final results were as follows:

1️⃣ Topsy Smith 🥇

2️⃣ McKay 🥈

3️⃣ Flynn 🥉

4️⃣ Partridge

5️⃣ Rolland

6️⃣ Griffiths

Thank you to Darcy Davis and Miriam Nicholls, our judges on the day, who gave up their time to come and watch and be a part of the day; Rob Versteegh, from our IT department who assisted with some technical issues; and our wonderful captains who hosted on the day, Music Captain Ben Chavez, Dance Captain, Surangana Mishr, and Visual Art/Photography Captain, Taylor Mostran.

Finally, a MASSIVE thank you to the Creative Arts team (Tracy Hurst, Peter Gilham and Rachel Moyle) led by our Head of Creative Arts, Michelle Fleming, for running a spectacular day!
