The College has a vibrant Performing Arts program managed by our Director of Performing Arts, Steve Kidd. Drama, Dance and Music courses are offered from Years 7 – 12.

There is also an exciting range of extracurricular activities after school and at lunchtimes. These include opportunities to learn a range of instruments, to join various College bands and choirs and perform in a variety of Drama and Dance projects with full production backing.

The College has excellent Performing Arts facilities and resources and industry trained staff. The department produces an annual musical, senior play, Music Soiree, junior play, numerous dance nights and the Year 11 improvised drama production. Students from all year levels present lunch-time Music, Drama and Dance performances throughout the year and the whole College participates in the annual Performing Arts Festival. Community events such as the Centralian Eisteddfod and the Alice Springs Desert Festival regularly feature St Philip’s students.

The College also provides the opportunity to learn technical production skills and crew lighting, sound and backstage for our numerous productions.

All students are encouraged to get involved in the Performing Arts Program, be creative, develop their skills and have fun.
